• Teacher Incentive Allotment

    Red Oak ISD has begun the process to submit an application (due in April 2025) for the Red Oak ISD Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) to increase teacher pay based on performance measured by T-TESS and Classroom Student Growth. Funds are provided by the state for approved Teacher Incentive Allotment District Plans.

    TIMELINE

    1. Fall 2024 - Cabinet approves pursuing, a consultant hired, staff survey, and committee formed
    2. Jan. 6, 2025 – Committee meets to develop DRAFT of ROISD TIA program
    3. Jan. 27, 2025 – Committee presents plan to School Board
    4. By April deadline – The committee/consultant submits the application to TEA
    5. July/August - TEA notification  of approval or denial

    If Approved

    1. School Year 2025-2026 - Texas Tech University Data Review of T-TESS Domains 2 & 3 and approved student growth measures for validity
    2. The first payouts will be summer of 2027
      1. Funds follow the teacher once a designation has been placed on the teacher’s certificate, within Texas ISDs or charter schools.

    COMMITTEE

    • A Committee has been formed and met with TIA Consultant Dr. Tammy Kreuz
      • Consists of a well-rounded selection of teachers from all grade spans.
        • ROISD categories - K-8 reading/math teachers; Algebra I, English I, and II; and special education teachers.
      • Stakeholder/Committee Meeting on January 6 to develop the ROISD TIA program included 36 members who met with consultant Dr. Tammy Kreuz and ROISD lead LaKesha Bass – 30 teachers, 6 others (IC, AP, etc.).

    • Preliminary DRAFT of the TIA District Plan
      • 50/50 weighted measures
        • T-TESS – 50%
          • 1 formal observation and at least 4 walk-through observations
        • Classroom Student Growth – 50%
      • Designation for five (5) years, can be extended each year if the teacher continues to meet the current designation or higher as long as funds are available.
      • Levels of Payout (vary by campus)
        • Recognized - $3-9K
        • Exemplary - $6-18K
        • Masters - $12-32K
        • 90% directly to the teacher; 10% to the ISD to support the program and campus

    NBCT - National Board Certified Teachers who are ROISD teachers or transfer to ROISD continue to receive their payments from their previous designation. However, a teacher cannot earn both; only the higher payout can be accepted. The TIA is different than the NBCT.
