When are my benefits effective?
The ROISD Plan Year Starts September 1st each year. Open enrollment begins the last week of July and runs through mid-August.
For new hires, benefits are effective the first of the month following your hire date.

Do I have to re-enroll for benefits each year?
Yes. As of January 2014, The Affordable Care Act (ACA), requires you to have health insurance for yourself and your dependents. You must enroll or decline benefits with Red Oak ISD each year during open enrollment.

How much does ROISD contribute to my health insurance premium?
The district contributes $325 to all tiers.

Am I required to carry the district health plan to enroll in other benefits?
No, in most cases you can enroll in any benefit or combination of benefits .

Can I make changes to my insurance coverage during the school year?
Changes can only be made at open enrollment unless one of the qualifying events occurs:
- Gaining a new dependent through marriage, birth or adoption
- Involuntary loss of other coverage
- Dropping dependent due to divorce or death

How do I access the District Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
ROISD provides an Employee Assistance Program for all staff at no charge. This includes 3 free face-to-face counseling sessions per year and unlimited phone consultations for financial, legal, and work-life concerns. Click on the flyer below for details.

How do I file a disability claim?
If you carry Disability Insurance, you can file a claim by calling The Hartford at 1-866-278-2655. For related details, click on the flyer below.

How can I get a health insurance card?
To access a copy of your ID card or request a replacement ID card, you can do that through your online member account. If you have not already registered for an online member account, you may register/create an account through the corresponding plan link listed below.

How do I get a prescription card?
Go to TRS ActiveCare Express Scripts for prescription cards.

How can I get a vision card?
You can access your vision ID card through your registered EyeMed online account or the EyeMed Mobile app.

How can I get a dental card?
You can access your dental ID card through your registered United Concordia member account or the United Concordia Mobile app.
